North and South Korea are two countries located on the Korean peninsula in Asia, which separated in 1953 after signing an armistice between the two parties. This conflict, also known as Korean War was one of the most important of the 20th century in which the great powers of the time intervened, on the one hand the Soviet Union (socialist) supporting North Korea and the United States (capitalist) supporting South Korea. After a 3-year conflict, they sign an armistice in which they establish the border between the two countries on the 38th parallel.
