I agree with Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory to a certain extent because to a higher degree we are influenced by our instincts(unconscious mind) and the environment that shapes us. In his theory he talks about the id, ego and superego and describes the controversies between these three in the psychosexual stages of development. The aim of psychoanalysis was make unconscious thoughts conscious therefore control them. His theory has been used in real situations to help personality disorders. Therefore it is very practicable as a person who experiences problems with handling his unconscious thoughts could be treated using this theory. However, I believe this theory is also very much less objective and was not scientifically proven, example how do we know that the three egos actually exist and are the way Freud described them.
