Acar with a hanging mass attached to the ceiling starts from rest up a hill and the driver never presses on the gas or the brakes. once reaching the bottom of the hill the road levels out horizontally for a short distance then curves around a flat 30-m-radius circular path. while the car is rounding the curve the hanging mass makes an angle of 30˚ with respect to the vertical. if you assume no energy is lost to friction, what height must the car have started from?

An insulated 40 ft^3 rigid tank contains air at 50 psia and 120°f. a valve connected to the tank is now opened, and air is allowed to escape until the pressure inside drops to 25 psia. the air temperature during this process is kept constant by an electric resistance heater placed in the tank. determine the electrical work done during this process.
