Suppose the hours that undergraduate students spend studying per week throughout the United States are normally distributed a mean of 20 hours and a standard deviation of 5 hours. The ASU Institutional Research Office believes that students at ASU study a different number hours per week studying than the national average. They randomly select 100 ASU students and find the mean number of hours of spent studying in the sample is 18. Use this information to answer the following questions.
1) Write the null and alternative hypotheses for this research question.
2) List the relevant information given in the scenario to help you chose which statistical test to use to reach a conclusion.
