Arabbit population can increase at a very rapid rate if left unchecked. assume that 10 rabbits are put in the wild
and their population triples each year for the next 5 years.
this is the table of values for the situation.

a. to confirm that this is exponential growth, list the first differences next to the table of values. then explain
how these differences indicate that the rabbit population growth is exponential.
b. using the point-ratio formula, find two different equivalent equations that represent the data. sketch a
graph of one of the exponential equations and describe the end behavior. be sure to label your axes
carefully.
c given that the life span of a healthy rabbit is 10-12 years, what would the rabbit population be after 10
years if all rabbits live to their full potential? to show your work, use either of the equations you found
previously.
d. using the exponential function of the form y = 10(3)*, find the logarithmic function that represents the
inverse. sketch a graph of the logarithmic function and describe the end behavior. label the axes carefully.
then find out how many years it takes, approximately, for the rabbit population to grow to 10,000.
