Midpoint is where the distance between either point to the midpoint is equal. So for the first one, M = (5,7). Take the 2 x-coordinates, add them, then divide by 2. 2+8 = 10, 10/2 = 5. Same for the y-coordinates. 5+9 = 14, 14/2 = 7. For the second problem, M = (8,-2). For the third problem, Q = (7,5). Since the M is given, the x value increases by 2 (from 3 to 5) as well as the y value (1 to 3). The midpoint is halfway between two points, so add 2 to each midpoint value (5+2, 3+2) which results in (7,5)
