Aman is 24 years older than his son 12 years ago he was five times as old as his son find the number

Let the present age of the son be 'x'

So, his father age = x + 24 

12 yrs ago,
Son's age = x - 12
Fathers age = (x + 24) - 12 
= x + 12 

Given,
5(x -12) = x + 12
5x - 60 = x + 12 
4x = 72
x = 72/4 = 18

So, the son's present age = 18 yrs 

And, fathers present age = 18 + 24 = 42 yrs
