1. $1.50 per hour, and a one-time cost of $5. 

One hour: $1.50 + 5 = $6.50
10 hours: 1.50 x 10 = $15 + 5 = $20

Frugal
One hour: $1.25 + 6 = $7.25
10 hours: $1.25 x 10 = $12.5 + 6 = $18.50



2. 1.50x + 5 = 1.25x + 6

Isolate the x, subtract 5 from both sides and 1.25x

1.50x (-1.25x) + 5 (-5) = 1.25x (-1.25x) + 6 - 5

1.50x - 1.25x = 6 - 5

.25x = 1

Isolate the x. Divide .25 from both sides

.25x/.25 = 1/.25 
x = 4

Cost is the same at 4, with both shops charging $11


3. 

5 + 1.50(3) = 5 + 4.5 = 9.50
6 + 1.25(3) = 6 + 3.75 = 9.75

They should use Bargain Bikes as it is cheaper by $0.15
