*Students at the high school are unhappy
about a new school policy that says all
students on campus can only use
mechanical pencils that were issued to
them by the school. In protest a large
group of students come to school
wearing t-shirts that say "I miss pens"
Students wearing these shirts are given
misconducts and told they cannot attend
the next school dance*

Question : Based on your understanding of the 1st
Amendment and the Supreme Court's
ruling in Tinker v. Des Moines, does the
school have the right to discipline these
students? Why or why not? Explain???
