Through millions of years the human specie has survived in a large chain of time where we had to develop our brains in order to continue existing.

It applies in his theory which says that the strongest are the ones who survive, this is not the physical strength but the mental skills or intelligence in order to live and evolve. In other words, the intelligence is the thing that makes human stronger than the rest of animals.

His theory had impact the culture because he improved the scientific research so we could keep evolving in technological ways, this also caused a decrease in religious ideas as he "killed God" in someway.

As a result many modern philosophers inspired his work in Darwin by asking deeply about human origins going further as in metaphysics and eventually impacted in literature.
