Growth and development are two distinct terms. Growth refers to the child's series of changes that can be seen often through a period of time such as height, weight, and body size. Development on the other hand, is the child's intellectual, social, emotional, and even physical changes between birth to the end of the child's adolescence. development describes the child's  psychological, emotional and biological progress in a continuous process with a sequence which is but a unique course in every child.
