Revise the story that you planned in Lesson 1 and drafted in Lesson 2. Your story should still focus on two characters who have magically — and accidentally — swapped bodies right before a talent show and must therefore perform each other's acts. Not only should you check to make sure you included the narrative elements discussed in Lesson 2 — character, conflict, plot, dialogue, and setting — but you should also try to make these elements even stronger. For example, how might you revise your dialogue so that it brings out your characters' personalities and attitudes more strongly? How might you add more description so that the setting of your story is even more vivid?
Your story should include the following elements:
A main character with a distinct goal and personality
Dialogue that shows how different characters think and feel
Conflict that the main character must resolve
An exposition that introduces both the setting and the conflict
Rising action that builds tension and gives the main character a conflict to overcome
A climax in which the main conflict of the story is resolved in a dramatic way
Falling action and a conclusion that show what happens to the characters after the conflict is over
You should have completed a draft of this assignment in the activity before this one. If you haven't done so, go back and complete that activity now.
