HelLo I currently writing a novel, this is the first 2 chapters, can you please tell me hat you think...thank you “Moon!”, the way he calls my name still sends chills through my entire body. I can’t go back. I can’t risk hurting them...hurting him.

I close my eyes and hug myself trying to find some kind of warmth or protection from the cold darkness that surrounds me. The sound of waves crashing invades my ears, and the cold salty air burns my nose and throat. The moon showers me with light and a sudden warmth spreads from my fingertips to my entire body, I can feel the bones in my body vibrating with the warmth. This time I embrace it, embrace who I am, what I am. My name is Choi Eunsoo Moon, and I am a Dragonil, an angel of darkness and light.

Chapter 1: The Past

I was born during a solar eclipse, the last few seconds before the world went dark, the last moment between darkness and light. As a child, I realized I was different from everyone else around me. For one thing, everyone had dark black hair, and bright brown eyes, while I had black and fire red hair, and silver white eyes. “Eyes just like the moon” my mama used to tease. I miss her.

I was 16 when the incident took place. My parents used to love each other, more than words can describe, but my father started changing, after he came back from a business trip. He started staying out late at night and starting fights with my mother, and I? It was like I didn't even exist to him. The last night I saw her, she came to me with frantic eyes, her bright silver eyes were dark and stormy. “You need to go, save yourself, he's going to hurt us, I can take care of him, but you have so much more in this life, I love you”. She pushed me out the door, and something in me forced my legs to move. I found myself running into the forest behind my home. I heard a loud hum from behind me, the air felt charged with an eerie electricity, and the house erupted in flames. I felt my knees buckle and I fell to the cold hard ground, trying not to scream. Every bone in my body vibrated, and a dark coldness surrounded me, even with the burning flames not so far away. It was over, she was gone. She had given her life to save mine.

Chapter 2: Hidden Secrets Untold

My eyes opened to a lightly lit room. I tried to sit up, but every bone in my body felt like it’s been snapped in half, and my head felt like I was under water. My eyes focused and I saw an older girl standing in the corner watching me. She has beautiful long black hair, and bright brown eyes. She silently approached me and helped me up. “My name is Lee So-yaa, I knew your mother”. I tried to speak, but all the events of the past night came flooding in like a storm. “She told me to find you and to keep you safe, I found you lying in the woods, her spirit guided me to you”.

I managed to choke out the words” How did you know my mother, and how come i've never met you before?. Her bright eyes turned dark and so she told me her story:

“My parents died in a car accident when I was 9. Your mother took me in and treated me like I was her own. I was just 11 when you were born. You were like a little sister to me. I don't think you would remember anything from before the incident, but we were close. Your father blamed me for what happened and forced me to leave. Ilsia got this house unknowingly to your father and gave it to me. I swore to your mother that I would protect you with all my life when the time came.”

“If it's not too much, can you tell me about the incident?” I asked softly, seeing the tears forming in her eyes.

“You were 6 at the time, we were playing in the woods behind your house, like we’ve done so many times before. It was late December and we were running around by the old late, at the time the late was just starting to freeze, and there was a thin layer of ice just at the top. You slipped on a piece of ice and fell head first into the icy lake. Blood was quickly staining the water and you were unconscious. I pulled you out but your body was stiff, and your breathing was labored. I ran to get Ilsia, but by the time we got to you you were already gone. Your mother summoned a shadow demon to find your soul, and she brought you back. Your father had followed us and saw everything. He blamed me for taking you into the woods to play, and told me to leave. I'm so sorry Moon, I never meant for you to get hurt. Your mother wanted me to give you this letter when I met you.”

I took the letter with shaking hands trying to process what I had just heard. I’ve died before? “ I wasn’t your fault So-yya, it's ok, and thank you.” She handed me some clothes. “ I’ll leave you to take care of yourself, I'll be downstairs if you need anything” She left and closed the door behind her. I took a deep breath and opened the letter with shaking hands.
