How effective is the argument for lengthening the school day?

Pretty much for students, agreeing in lengthening the school day is indeed a 'no' for them. Might as well be with the teachers. Because even though we are in a state of this pandemic, students and teachers also want to have a rest while studying or working. This also an opportunity for them to bond and take care of things at home. But not all of them wants this kind lifestyle, some students might lack the capacity to have gadgets or even attend online classes. So some students just choose to be home-schooled by their modules and parents, while others study on their own. Work- from-home might also be a big problem to some that has no work or has work that involves physical  (including construction workers, bartenders, etc.). So it might not be that effective if we pursue on lengthening the school day, since there's a possibility that many population would disagree.
