Persuasive Speech Related to Julius Caesar Directions Directions: You are going to write your own persuasive speech which includes the rhetorical devices of logos, pathos, ethos, parallelism/repetition, rhetorical question, and analogy.

Topics of choice for the speech:
1. Brutus is selfless fighter or Brutus is traitor
2. Antony is a good leader to take charge of Rome

Step 1: Identify your topic and write your speech. Your speech should be at least a page in length.

Step 2: Once you have written your speech, you need to highlight the rhetorical devices you incorporated into your speech by using the following color code.
Logos
Pathos
Ethos
Parallelism/Repetition
Rhetorical Question
Analogy

*Some parts of your speech may qualify as 2 rhetorical devices. For instance, a line in your speech might be great ethos and pathos. Either choose the rhetorical device you think is stronger in that situation. Or color half of the line pink and half of the line yellow.

Step 3: Lastly, you will create an “analysis key” that explains your color coding. On a separate document, you will list your rhetorical examples and explain why you believe they are the device you listed them as.
