The horrors of the world can often be attributable to a defect of the culture rather than just an isolated case of immorality. Our lack of reasonableness and a lack of moral knowledge is part of our culture. Philosophy uses the tools of logic and reason to analyze the ways in which humans experience the world.   It teaches critical thinking, close reading, clear writing, and logical analysis; it uses these to understand the language we use to describe the world, and our place within it. The most important reason to study philosophy is that it is of enormous and enduring interest. All of us have to answer, for ourselves, the questions asked by philosophers. Philosophy is an abstract idea to study, but it is extremely interesting. The word philosophy comes from the Greek word ‘Philosophia’ which means “love of wisdom.” The key to philosophy is to be about being very critical towards any ideas, including things that seem certain.“Philosophy” comes from Greek words meaning “love of wisdom.” Philosophy uses the tools of logic and reason to analyze the ways in which humans experience the world. Intrinsically it satisfies or seeks to satisfy, the intellectual desire for comprehensive knowledge and understanding. Philosophers need to be open-minded and never closing the door. They have to be accepting and be able to accept changes. A philosopher is curious, reflective, and critical. People develop and shape their personal philosophy during their whole life. Some circumstances may radically change our views, depending on our age, social status, and personal qualities. As for me, at this stage of my life, I can’t say it for sure that my personal philosophy is complete and well-shaped. My life is My Philosophy In order to define one’s philosophy they must think like a philosopher, but what must one attain to do so? Philosophers tend to be compliant, persuasive, paradoxical, truth-seeking, persistent, authoritative, self-effacing, and inquisitive.
