Waylan walked up to the plate, swinging the bat confidently. He didn't feel confident, though. He felt like everyone was watching him, expecting him to strike out again. "I can do it, I can do it," he repeated to himself, taking a deep breath. The first pitch was high -- a ball. The second pitch looked good, and he swung with all his might, smashing the ball over the fence.
