These rods are jacketed by an annulus in which water at an average temperature of 120 deg C is circulated. The water cools the rods with an average convection coefficient of 55,000 W/m2-K. The thermal conductivity of uranium is 29.5 W. m-K. Find: The maximum center temperature of the uranium fuel rods.
