All Seasons, Inc. is a retailer of Christmas-related products. All Seasons ordered $5,000 worth of Christmas decorations from manufacturer, Santa, Inc. Santa's shipment of decorations was to arrive now later than October 1, but did not arrive until December 1st, and included only half of the decorations All Sensons had ordered. On December 15th, All Seasons was able to purchase the remaining portion of the unfulfilled order through another supplier, but had to pay the other supplier 20% more than the price it would have paid under the original contract with Santa, Inc. Finally, as a result of the delay in obtaining the decorations for resale, All Seasons had to discount the decorations in order to get them sold before the Christmas holiday, As such, the company's sales revenues were 25% less than what All Sonsons would have earned had it received the entire shipment from Santa, Inc. on time on October 1.
