Osmosis

Explanation:

Osmosis is the cellular process that allows a solvent (water) to pass through the cell's plasma membrane through a concentration gradient.

As you may already know, the plasma membrane is semipermeable, that is, it allows the passage of some molecules when necessary. In the case of osmosis, when there is an imbalance in the concentration of solvents inside and outside the cell, we have a concentration gradient. In this case, the solvent leaves the site with more concentration to the site with less concentration, crossing the plasma membrane and allowing the concentration to be balanced inside and outside the cell.
