Write an essay about an event you're looking forward to attending in the coming weeks or months. focus on varying your sentence structure by using the types of phrases and clauses taught in this lesson. you should include at least one example of each of the following: a. a participial phrase b. a prepositional phrase c. a sentence with two independent clauses joined by a conjunction d. a noun clause e. a relative, or adjective, clause f. an adverbial clause your essay should be at least 150 words long. when you have finished your essay, find one of each of the types of phrases and clauses you have used, place brackets around it, and put a letter next to it. (you only need to mark one of each type of phrase or clause, even if you have used the form several times.)

     "In May, I will be helping a friend of mine present his idea for a better airplane engine to some of his coworkers and boss.  [Tired of his low-paying job, he took a chance and signed up for an engineering contest.](A.) Whoever wins will get 10,000 and will get a job promotion. Him being me buddy, I decided to help him out.  [During these few months](B.) he will be researching and testing how to improve an airplane engine. [He decided to try this competition, because he knew that it would challenge himself](C.) and it would be a good thing to put himself out there. [The fact that he will be presenting](D.) his ideas to a room full of businesspeople and has asked me to help him out is mindblowing. I don’t know much about airplanes, however [with lots of research] (E.), im sure he  will do well. This is important [because 10,000 dollars are on the line] (F.) Although he might not win, whatever happens, it will be an awesome experience, and I am glad that I was there to help him out."
