CALL TO ADVENTURE - something occurs that disrupts our hero’s life & causes them to face a decision (discovery, event, added danger, something new from within the hero)

REFUSAL OF THE CALL - The hero may not immediately accept their call to adventure. He/she may be afraid of the new tasks they have to do or have other obligations.

BEGINNING OF THE ADVENTURE/THRESHOLD - The hero finally accepts the call. The new world is different from their ordinary world.

MENTOR FIGURE(S) - before the hero accepts the call to adventure, they meet with a mentor. The mentor offers advice that convinces the hero to accept the call and enter the new world.

ROAD OF TRIALS - The hero faces a variety of tests and obstacles on the journey.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE/TEMPTRESS - The hero experiences unconditional love. He/she may also face temptation that is a distraction from the quest/goal.

ULTIMATE BOON - The hero achieves his/her ultimate goal.

REFUSAL OF THE RETURN -The hero finds bliss and enlightenment in the new world and may not want to return to the old world.

RESCUE FROM WITHOUT

CROSSING BACK/RETURN/REWARD - After accomplishing the mission, the hero collects some type of reward from their journey.

The hero returns, with this reward, home to their ordinary world. They are changed from the beginning.
