Of all the great wayfarers of antiquity, the journeys of Paul of Tarsus (see paul, apostle, st.) are among the best documented. Luke implies that he had at times traveled with Paul (see the so-called we-passages in Acts 16:10–17; 20:5–15; 21:1–18; 27:1–28:16), yet he often gives (or appears to omit) information that does not correlate with Paul's letters.
