Meanwhile, if a person kills a stranger, society will think that they are at risk too. The killer can murder anyone, including them. Therefore, when a murderer is killing a stranger, it is seen as more threatening than killing his or her family.

Most people in society consider the act of murder as a serious crime. A person should be punished if they are doing such a horrible crime. The punishment varies, such as prison time or death punishment.

Most countries give a murderer a long-term prison sentence or the death penalty. The long-term prison sentence might last a lifetime. So, someone will spend their entire life in prison, so they will not hurt other people anymore.
