Speculating what do you think was the public reaction to president ford’s speech?

Ford decided t give Nixon a pardon for all offenses against the United States in order to put the tragic and disruptive scandal behind. He justified his decision by claiming that a long, drawn-out trial would only have the public oppose Nixon more. Ford's decision to pardon Nixon was condemned by many.
