What challenges did john adams faced as president

He faced issues with a separation in his political party. He also messed up when he kept many of Washington’s cabinet. He cost himself-reelection when he signed the Alien and Sedition Acts which is composed of 4 laws that are allegedly designed to save the state from foreign harm but the truth was made to halt the criticism of the Federalist Party leadership. 

He was probably very upset and disapointed and mad. all at once. so he probably wanted to show his disapointment, angryness, and depression. he didn't think of the affects due to the minor issue thst he has gone through. sorry if it doesn't . but i am trynna people.
