Philanthropy in essence refers to the love of humanity and its nourishing and nurturing. They are initiated by the private individuals who do this work for the benefit of society and people in it.  Philanthropy for a goal has to address and solve the root of societie's problems and not only to alleviate  the consequences which is the main distinction between charity and philanthropy. The individuals engaged in philanthropy are called philanthropists.
