What are examples of "remaining open to continuous learning" in history?

Examples include any leader who was willing to have an open mind and learn about the world and how he should govern while was in charge. Another example are generals from the First world war which were subject to drastic changes in the time of the war and they had to continuously learn and adapt their tactics as they changed. 

He was probably very upset and disapointed and mad. all at once. so he probably wanted to show his disapointment, angryness, and depression. he didn't think of the affects due to the minor issue thst he has gone through. sorry if it doesn't . but i am trynna people.
