Service learning is often more effective when two conditions are met: (1) giving students some degree of choice in the service activities in which they participate, and (2)

the answer is (2) providing students opportunities to reflect about their participation.
By providing the students with the opportunity, we could give a chance for them to evaluate whether their  talent and their choice match with one another.
This will provide them with information that would influence their decision making process in choosing an expertise for the future

It allowed for things to be produced much more quickly and efficiently 

1.  go out into nature and commune with the divine2.  experience real solitude to truly perceive nature3.  realize that individuals are meant to learn from nature and transcend it4.  think of nature as a symbol of the divine
