Desertification in Africa is a serious issue that is causing a lot of trouble, warning us of our future if we don't change our habits. Let's remeber that desertification refers to the persistent degradation of dry land ecosystems by human activities and climate change. It causes less rain and bad quality in the soil, meaning a lower crop yield and less grazing for livestock. When a land is turned into a desert, people can't plant anything, the only solution availabe is to move out, seeking for a more fertile land or a job in an urban area. The land is then lost, the UN estimates that 12 million hectares of land are lost each year, therefore aproximately 20 million tons of grain.
