Aaran and Janto technology is found in Nepal  

Janto is a type of a grinder made of stone. This stone consists of two rounded stones, the lower part of which is fixed to the floor of the house and has a large nail or wood in its center to support the top stone while grinding.

The top part however has two holes in it, one in the middle to keep grains and the other on the side to place a handle for grinding. The grains are ground with the help of the handle by a circular movement and the individual must sit down to do the job.

Aaran is an essential local or traditional technology used in Nepal. It is utilised to make metal weapons such as Khukuri, Sickle, Axe and so on.
