Read this to By 200 CE, the Roman Empire had established trading relationships outside of its borders. Romans used an early version of the Silk Road in order to trade with China and India. Romans exported goods, such as gold, wine, and wheat in exchange for India’s spices and China’s silk. From this trading relationship Rome was able to import and export goods in order to increase it’s Empire’s economy.
