Her interest to make education for females more important and even defying the orders of the Taliban for girls to stay at home seemed to be the main reason for her becoming the militants' target.

Malala Yousafzai is a young Pakistani teenager who became world famous for her courageous act of defying the most dreaded militants in the world-the Taliban. And despite her ordeal, she carried on to become an outspoken supporter and agent for female education in her country.

Before she became a target of the militant group, Malala was a normal, teenage girl who attends school and then helps in the family, have fun with friends and the like. Her father was a teacher and that helped her love reading more. Overall, her early childhood prior to the shooting seemed to be a happy and fun life.

But because of her desire to get education not only for herself, she became a target for the Taliban for her call for more female education. Malala Yousafzai believed that everyone, including girls, have the right to have an education which the Taliban greatly forbids. To them, girls must stay at home and do the housework while education is for boys. And this open support for female/girl's education and calling out the Taliban for their restriction was what led to the shooting outside her school. In October 9, 2012, the Taliban shot her and her friend while they were on their way home from school. Luckily, she survived the headwound and migrated to the UK where she's been ever since, but is still working on girl's education.
