A federal safe house is a secret place in which people usually hide from the law, other people, or because there is any kind of danger.

Explanation:

Safe houses are usually utilized to keep secrets among certain people and at the same time to protect those who are with them. Safe houses had an important role in the Underground Railroad, in which they were used in slaves' escape to the most important United States free states during the 19th century. The safe houses' network was used to help slaves to escape.

Safe houses were also a refuge for those who were victims of Nazis and they also allowed prisoners of war to escape.
