Experts say that nurses face unique challenges because of long-term patient and family
relationships. sometimes unsustainable decisions are nursing caregivers. "Nurses are often
unable to choose patient care," says Rushton. Rushton. "Rushton says that the nation is at a
crossroads in health," says a nursing and pediatrics professor. Some of these are serious
situations. Johns Hopkins has initiatives and programs to stimulate ethics discussions,
especially among nurses. Many hospitals have codes of conduct or guidelines which guarantee
quality and safety, although fewer are ethical. Ethics can stay behind when nurses are busy,
says Rushton. Initiatives are being developed in Kimmel Cancer Center to support nurses in
tackling long-term cancer moral challenges. For students of the graduate school, the Johns
Hopkins School of Nursing is specialized in ethics and theory. Students learn about their values
and how to sympathize with those on the other side by engaging in debates and debates.
US Nurses Association that prepares to publish its report 50 health care leaders met for the
First National Care Ethics Summit in Baltimore in August 2014. The resulting plan on the ethics
of the 21st century lays down what can progressively be done to ensure that nurses are
prepared. The nursing students of today are going to be nurses of tomorrow, says Rushton. He
believes that the common voice of nursing workers can be mobilised in discussions with
policymakers, hospital administrators, medical organizations and insurance companies in order
to create a culture that values and promotes the practice of ethics. The ANA celebrated its
release with 2015 as "the Year of Ethics"
