Explanation:

The impeachment process can be done if any members of the government was doing misdemeanors and should be removed from office. The legislative branch has the power to start the impeachment and vote for whether the accused should be impeached. The impeachment will happen if the Senate managed to obtain 2/3 of the votes.

Before judges were appointed, the senate has the power to  conduct interviews/research to the candidate. They can vote whether or not the candidate can get the position.
