Why did President Eisenhower order federal troops to the south? Read closely! He believedDuring and after the Warring States Period, Chinese beliefs began to evolve. To evolve means to go through a process of change. However, these changes are not usually quick changes. Changes to China’s belief system were surely not quick. They took place over a long period of time. This time is often called the Classical period. Classical China lasted from 660 BCE to 220 CE. This period is known for its growth and creativity. During this period, China had several great philosophers. Their writings helped to shape China’s culture.

Three dynasties or kingdoms made up this period. The three dynasties were the Zhou (pronounced "Joe"), the Qin (pronounced "Chin"), and the Han. During these three dynasties, the country grew in size. Big changes also happened in the Chinese government and economy.
