Imagine the immigrant experience. Drawing from your own family background, or from a period of American history that interests you, create a journal/diary/letter of 750-1,000 words reflecting on what your life would have been like as an immigrant to the United States sometime between the late 16th century to the late 20th century. Be sure to include the physical, mental, and social issues you may have encountered. This is a creative assignment, so have fun with it. Include the Topic 1 Readings:
