The country might not have enough land to harvest enough plant food or raise the cattle and other animals for animal-based products. People might not have enough to eat. County can end up importing more and more food. If the country is not rich in the first place, this will cost them a lot and food can become expensive. This can result in loss of money both for the country and people.

The land also can become very expensive if there is not enough of it. People might end up living in very small and crowded places. Anything bigger and more suitable for leisure living would be too expensive for people. We see that Japan, while a very rich and developed country, has a lack of living space in overcrowded cities such as Tokyo. People live in very small apartments while paying a lot for the living space.
