The Bubonic Plague, which was also known as "Black Death" hit Europe in the 1300s. It is said to have started from a ship that arrived with dead sailors onboard. From then on, it spread to many people killing more than 20 million of Europe's population. This event caused panic to people that they tried not to communicate with the sick and even other people. The doctors also didn't want to see those who were ill. The stores were closed and people move towards the country area in hopes of escaping from the illness. They became very desperate to survive that they left whoever was sick–even their very own loved ones.

The plague was unimaginable. Doctors tried techniques that were considered harmful such as lancing the boil. Some of them resorted to practices that were superstitious in nature.
