Lets say that your online and somebody asks where you live. You already know that the person who typed that is your friend (you based that on their username and pfp) so you give them your address. The next day someone knocks on your door but it isn’t your friend. They leave your house because no one answered. They now know where you live. What do you do?

I would inform the police of my mistake. I'd probably also get a security system and be more aware when I am entering and leaving my house and don't leave spare keys under the doormat or anything. When you leave the house close and lock all doors, windows, etc. And pull blinders and curtains. I would probably only do this for the first couple months.
