Federal funds should be allocated to the programs that benefited the citizens of United States. Not all the citizens has the same religion. So, allocating those federal funds to institution such as churches basically took away potential programs that can positively impact other citizens.

Religious institution should be run like a private organization. They both have more similar characteristics with one another. Programs that created by religious institution should be funded by the followers' money. Not the taxes paid by other citizens that do not share their belief.
