In a monarchy, the kings possessed a belief that they were representatives of the almighty's authority. Consequently, they bore divine rights which were beyond any kind of rules or regulations. However, with time people began to question these divine rights as they were extremely repressive, dictatorial, discriminatory, and tyrannical. The authority possessed by kings made them inhuman and deny even basic human rights to their people. Thus, After bearing the rigorous tyranny for years, people began to question the divine authority of the kings.

The rule of law is different from monarchy as it considers the basic human rights to each and every individual and gives them equal worth and opportunity to say irrespective of their financial status, cast, creed, genderm religion, etc. The rule of law announces formal laws that apply to each and every individual without any flaw and uses power against those who deny to abide by them.
