Serialist (in music ) is  an approach to composing which lays emphasis on the use of a series of notes, mostly scales, to achieve consistency quotations.

In simple terms; serialism is a method of composition using series of pitches, rhythms, dynamics, timbres or other musical elements.

Holist is someone who believes that a topic of study cannot be fully understood only  by studying the parts, or who studies by considering the whole.

It simply means that holism  is the idea that various systems should be viewed as wholes, not merely as a collection of parts.
