An example of variables (dependent, independent and control) is when you want to test which kind of soil will help plants grow the fastest, you have three kinds of soil, A,B, and C. So, the independent variable is the kind of soil, the dependent variable is the length of the plant and the control variable is the sunlight, because that has to stay the same for everything.
