Why did totalitarian leaders gain power in years following WWI

while democarcy got well established in France , Britain and USA, post WWI, totalitarian leaders sprouted in Germany, Russia, Italy and even in Japan. Some contextual common denominators in all the above Need for economic resurgence - Germany had high inflation, Russia being an agrarian economy lost millions of soldiers. Italy was poor - low indistrialisation and agriculture. Japan’s drive for rapid industrialisation led it to war for access to minerals and ores in China. Restoration of national pride post WWI. Italy was considered a lesser country. They wanted to assert and regain their lost glory ( The Roman Empire) Germany , took a battering in the war. The emergence of Socialism , in Russia also spread it’s influence in Italy and Germany. Some feared and some favoured it. Both Hitler and Mussolini used this plank to gain power. Hitler singled out Jews as citadels of Capitalist exploiters.Explanation:
