Simple U.S History help?
For my homework I'm not sure on this question: "List at least two examples of colonial institutions which established the tradition of self rule" And this question: "Why did the colonists become angry when Parliament attempted to impose taxes and strictly enforce mercantile restrictions after the French and Indian War?"

1. Colonial elective 'Assemblies' ran the colonies as government locally. In New England local 'Church Councils' and public 'Town Meetings' also ran the colony locally.
2. By the time of the French and Indian War (1760's) the colonists had been pretty much on their own running things locally and between each other for most of 100 years (since 1660's). They were used to doing that. In the French and Indian War (ended 1763) they fought hard alongside of Britain and helped Britain win big, doubling the size of the colonies with virgin land taken from the French. But then instead of 'thanking them' the British wanted the colonists to pay for the War and be taxed for the new land, which the British and not the colonies would run.

What monuments in the U.S have been made when a democrate was president?
my friend says all the monuments in the states were made when republicians are presidents (Hes a irrational neocon who thinks the worlds goin' to end in the way what ever video game he is playing at the moment) any ways i know hes wrong and he said which ones, i can really think of any. So do you?

Off the top of my head, I can think of five monuments dedicated during
