John Keats' poem "On Seeing the Elgin Marbles" talks of the complex nature of dying. He is somewhat averse to the idea of death but at the same time did not want the immortality of the gods either. Similarly, in William Wordsworth's poem "Ode: intimations of Immortality", the speaker talks of nature as passing away from him. There used to be a time when he admires and thinks nature is dreamlike but now, "there hath past away a glory from the earth".
