If you were a plantation owner in the South who held many slaves, how would you have reacted to the Dred Scott decision?

African Americans whether free or slaves shall not be considered as  citizens of America. This was the final ruling given by Supreme court in the Dred Scott case.

If  I were a plantation owner holding many slaves, I would have asked my slaves to work for me rather than putting their efforts to gain freedom. Because slave owners are free labors who work in plantations under hazardous conditions and I don't want to lose them.
