David was a bold person who had resilient faith in  God. this he exemplified when he fought with Goliath in (1 sam 16). He was a person who recognised the place of spiritual authority and what its means to be anointed of God when He had the opportunity of taking saul's life-his enemy, he refused to do it. He was a leader, he had people whom he trained in battle under him. Bible discussed about Eleazar the son of Dodo, shimmach, Joab etc. Saul had no reference for spiritual things when he consulted the witch which is against God's principle. Solomon loved so many strange women, and they turned his heart away from God.

David relationship with God had to do with his consultation with God whenever he is about to go for any battle."And David enquired of the Lord, saying...". Also his altars of worship, He sang and composed a lot of songs and prophesied about the coming messiah. David had influence on his nation ,in that he fought many battles. He secured mount zion, The city of David. He had influence on Solomon and instructed him in the way of the LORD.

Bible talked about some who came to meet David in the cave of Adullam and how he made mightiness of them.;He also recovered the captives of Ziklag. When Nathan the prophet confronted David of his sins and atrocity with Bathsheba and how he killed her husband, David accepted this and repented ,seeking forgiveness from God. He accepted the recompense and chose to endure till the trial was over. David was indeed a man after God's heart because He sought after God's interest.
